Women’s ODI World Cup | Tazmin Brits rises to fourth in latest ICC ODI rankings after fifth century in 2025

Tazmin Brits rose to fourth spot in the latest ICC Women’s ODI batting rankings after her match-winning century against New Zealand in the ongoing World Cup on Monday. The South African batter has had an unbelievable year in ODI cricket, with five centuries and a fifty in 11 innings.

The century against the Kiwis was Brits’ fifth in ODIs this year, as she went past Smriti Mandhana for the record of most centuries in a calendar year. She has amassed 749 runs from 11 innings in 2025, at an impressive average of 83.22 and a strike rate of 96.14.
Apart from Brits, Ashleigh Gardner also made her way into the top five on the back of her aggressive century that helped Australia recover from a tricky position and beat New Zealand in their opening match at the marquee event. The all-rounder improved seven spots to be placed fifth in the list.
Meanwhile, Mandhana continues to be on top of the ranking list, despite her indifferent start to the home World Cup campaign. The left-handed batter, who had meagre returns of eight and 23 in the first two games, however, leads the run-scoring charts in ODIs this year. She is just 41 short of reaching the 1000-run mark, scoring four centuries and three fifties in 16 innings at an average of 59.93 and a strike rate of 113.76.
England captain and all-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt and Australia batter Beth Mooney are second and third, respectively, in the batters’ list. Meanwhile, New Zealand skipper Sophie Devine, who had an excellent start to the current World Cup with a century and a fifty in the first two matches, also rose to the eighth spot. She is also the top run-scorer in this World Cup with 197 runs, with Gardner at second with 115 runs.
