Additionally, with this, the India Women's team has lost two consecutive games. It should be noted that all matches now prove to be crucial for them if they want to reach the playoffs. But it seems that the more is following a script we have seen before. Plus, it is similar to that of Australia in the 2023 World Cup.

1. Australia in World Cup 2023

The World Cup 2023 came to be a shocker to most of the fans. Australia didn't perform well in its Initial League stage matches. Still, the team went on to script its comeback on its own. This helped them to eventually reach the finals and beat India to clinch the title.

In the League stages, Australia lost just two games. And these matches were against India and South Africa. Their first match was against India, where the team got restricted to 199. Still, the Australian bowlers put India at 2/3. This was not enough to stop them from winning, as India won the game by 6 wickets.

Australia had its next game against South Africa in the League stages. The Proteas were batting first in this game and went on to score 311/7. Quinton de Kock smashed a ton, with Markram scoring a half-century. In return, Australia was able to score just 177 runs, losing the game by a big margin.

Defying this, the team went on to obtain the remaining 7 games to reach the playoffs. Then they took revenge against South Africa by defeating them in the semi-finals. Against India, they completed the revenge by winning the finals by 6 wickets.

2. India in Women's World Cup 2025

Now, fans would wonder how the India Women's team is replicating this script. As of now, India women’s have played four games in the Women's World Cup. They were able to win the initial two games but lost the next two. And these games were against Australia and South Africa.

After this loss, India had its match against Australia. Batting first, the team was in a strong position, as they scored 330 runs. In response, the Australia Women went down to script history. Now, this pattern too matches how Australia did in the 2023 World Cup. The team lost to India and South Africa, but went on to win from this stage. In the Women’s World Cup 2025, India has lost to both Australia and South Africa.
