As of 1st January 2023, Shubman Gill had 1 Test century to his name, and Babar Azam stood above him with 9 centuries. Over the past few months, things have changed a lot for the Indian skipper. Now, it is Shubman Gill having 10 Test centuries to his name, while Babar Azam still has 9.

1. Shubman Gill in Tests Since 2023

Shubman Gill has started to perform well in the Test format since 2023. But 2023 could still not be termed as his best year in the Test format, as he only recorded one big score in 6 matches. In addition, Gill played 6 Test matches for the Indian team and scored 258 runs at an average of 28.66, with one century.

But in 2024, Shubman Gill had regained his form in the longest format of the game. In this year only, Gill managed to score 3 centuries and 5 half-centuries. This helped the Indian youngster to score 866 runs in 12 matches at an average of 43.30.
