The second ODI between the West Indies and Bangladesh saw a rare finish, never witnessed by cricket fans before. This match has already made it to the headlines due to its pitch conditions. But no one expected the ending to be rare for one team, and also for international cricket.

Bangladesh and the West Indies clashed against each other at Mirpur for the second ODI. This match was a lot intense for the fans, as it was played on a unique black soil pitch. Favouring the spinners, the turning track gave a lot of trouble to the batting side,

The target was expected to be chased down easily by the West Indies. But they were able to level the scores and make the game reach the Super Over. With the West Indies coming out on top by just one run, they have won the game and also levelled the series at 1-1.

1. West Indies Creates Record

The match between the West Indies and Bangladesh was played at a spin-friendly pitch. But even the Head Coach, Darren Sammy, didn't know how spin-friendly it could be, as the Bangladesh pitch curator decided to use a rare black soil for the same. Due to this reason, the pitch was seen as more black than any other pitch

The first record in this game was created by the West Indies. Surely the pitch was set by the Bangladeshi curators; it was the West Indies team who took the advantage. Looking at the conditions, the team didn't even play a single pace bowler in their innings.

Only five bowlers were used by the West Indies, and all of them were spinners. This means 50 overs of total spin bowling were done by the team towards the Bangladeshi players. what's rare in this, having 50 overs of spin being bowled in an innings.

This is for the first time any full member ICC nation has bowled 50 overs of spin bowling in an ODI innings. Before this, Sri Lanka held the record for bowling 44 overs of spin on three different occasions. Now, it will be impossible for any team to break the record which has been created by the West Indies.

2. Bangladesh Gets a Rare Finish

There are several results that an ODI game could have, which include a win, a loss, a draw, or even no result. For Bangladesh, the match against the West Indies went to a super over and created a record for them. It would be shocking for the fans also to know that the team created a record by playing a Super Over.

Bangladesh was batting first and the team scored 213 runs, giving a target of 214 to the West Indies. The latter tried its best to chase down the target as soon as possible, but wickets were falling at a rapid pace. Still, the West Indies had managed to finish their innings at a score of 213/9. The scores were now levelled, with the match going to a Super Over.

While it would be normal for the fans to watch the game going for a Super Over, it is a 1-in-814 incident for the Bangladeshi team when it comes to international cricket.

In the Super Over, the West Indies had to bat first and they were able to post 10 runs on the board. With Bangladesh having a target of 11 runs, the West Indies had tried their best to defend the same. In the end, they ended up winning the game by 1 run,

It was a tough loss for the Bangladeshi team, as the team lost by a very small margin. Despite having the pitch favour them in the game, the team was not able to utilise it to their favour. It all now goes for the third ODI match between the West Indies and Bangladesh, which will be played at the same Stadium.
