IND-A vs SA-A Review | Visitors on front foot with 105-run lead over India A at stumps on day 2

South Africa were in a commanding position with a lead of 105 runs at the time of stumps on Day 2 of the first unofficial Test of the ongoing two-match unofficial Test series. India A’s middle-order failed to perform big and they failed to get the first-innings lead at the end of day 2.

At the start of day 2, South Africa A resumed with their overnight score of 299/9. They could add only 10 runs to their score and were bundled out at the score of 309 in 91.2 overs. Jordan Hermann and Zubayr Hamza played crucial half-century knocks, scoring 71 and 66 runs, respectively. Later in the innings, Rubin Hermann and Rivaldo Moonasamy also scored 54 and 46 runs to help the visitors post 300+ total on the board in the first innings. Star all-rounder Tanush Kotian shone with the ball for India A, scoring four wickets for just 83 runs in 23 overs, including five maiden overs. Besides him, Gurnoor Brar and Manav Suthar also claimed two wickets each, alongside a wicket each picked by Khaleel Ahmed and Anshul Kamboj.
In response to South Africa A’s 309-run total, India A were bundled out at the score of 234 in 58 overs. India A had a brilliant opening start of 90 runs in 22 overs, by the opening pair of Sai Sudharsan and Ayush Mhatre. Sudharsan scored 32 (94), followed by Mhatre’s 65 runs off 76 balls, with 10 fours. Later in the innings, it was only Ayush Badoni who showed a bit of resilience with his knock of 38 runs off 47 balls, with five fours. These knocks helped India to somehow post a total of 234, trailing by 75 runs at the end of the first innings. Pranelan Subrayen starred with the ball, claiming an amazing five-wicket haul (5/61), alongside two wickets picked by Lutho Sipamla. Apart from these two, Tshepo Moreki, Okuhle Cele, and Tiaan van Vuuren scalped a wicket each for the visitors to restrict India to the score of 234 runs.
After bundling out India on 234, South Africa A scored 30/0 at the end of the day, as the openers Jordan Hermann and Lesego Senokwane went unbeaten at the individual scores of 12 and nine runs, respectively.
