The 25-year-old Portuguese defender has flourished in Serie A, registering nine assists in 36 appearances and becoming a key attacking outlet down the left flank.
Described as “super fast” by Shay Given, Tavares has attracted attention from top clubs, including Juventus and Chelsea, though Lazio value him at around £43 million. With Marc Cucurella excelling at left-back, Chelsea may consider Tavares as a cost-effective backup. His resurgence in Italy, combined with his familiarity with English football, positions him as a potential target as Maresca looks to strengthen his squad further.
