After the SDAT Multi Purpose Indoor Stadium in Chennai came alive once again, Puneri Paltan harnessed the roaring crowd support to secure a thrilling 49-44 victory over Bengal Warriorz in Pro Kabaddi League Season 12. The win marked a double over the Warriorz and showcased the rising talent in the Paltan squad. Aditya Shinde led the charge with 18 points, registering a Super 10, while Pankaj Mohite added another Super 10 with 10 points.
Despite the loss, Bengal Warriorz’s Devank Dalal delivered a standout performance with 25 points, becoming the first raider to surpass 150 raid points this season. Coach Ajay Thakur emphasized the team’s resilience, noting that crucial tackles by Shinde and Aslam in the second half turned the momentum in Puneri Paltan’s favor. He praised Shinde as a “smart raider” capable of performing under pressure and highlighted his discipline and composure.
Shinde, returning from an injury that kept him out in Season 11, credited both his preparation and the support from coaches and teammates for his strong comeback. He also acknowledged the Chennai crowd, saying their chants and energy inspire him to give his best. Thakur, reflecting on his playing days in Tamil Nadu, added that the fans’ love and encouragement provide players unmatched motivation.
