U Mumba Eye Revenge Week Clash Against Gujarat Giants.

U Mumba bounced back with a 42-24 win over Tamil Thalaivas, ending their three-match losing streak and moving to sixth. Sandeep Kumar’s Super 10 and Sunil Kumar’s High Five stood out. Ahead of Revenge Week, Sunil warned Shadloui against repeating past mistakes as U Mumba prepare to face Gujarat Giants after edging them in a tie-breaker earlier.

After the Chennai leg opener, U Mumba regained their rhythm with a dominant 42-24 win over Tamil Thalaivas at the SDAT Multi Purpose Indoor Stadium. The victory ended their three-match losing streak and lifted them to sixth on the PKL Season 12 points table. Head coach Anil Chaprana credited the turnaround to motivation and self-belief, stressing that his players only needed to cut down on errors and play to their strengths.

On the mat, Sandeep Kumar delivered a Super 10 while captain Sunil Kumar completed his High Five, ensuring a commanding performance. As the league now shifts into Revenge Week, U Mumba’s clash against Gujarat Giants is one of the most anticipated encounters. Their previous meeting went down to the wire, with U Mumba winning 6-5 in a tiebreaker after a 29-29 stalemate. Sunil Kumar recalled that Mohammadreza Shadloui’s miscalculation had cost the Giants in that match, warning that if the Iranian repeats the same mistake, U Mumba will capitalize again.

However, he dismissed any personal rivalry, insisting kabaddi is a team sport where fewer mistakes decide the outcome. Thursday’s double-header will also see Puneri Paltan, winners of four of their last five, face Bengaluru Bulls, who are keen to recover from a tie-break loss to UP Yoddhas.
